“I want everyone to wear what they want and mix it in their own way. That, to me, is what is Modern. “
Do the job you like and you will never work a day in your life! After trying quite different fields like education, psychology, sales, banking, somehow life brought me to the path I truly enjoy. Of course, this didn’t happen overnight, but it did start with that one day, a couple of years ago, when after careful thinking and pondering, I decided to quit my secure corporate job and follow my heart and mind. It was the best decision I ever made!
Still, by following my dreams, I didn’t expect to work less or have more free time. A lot of people think that when you choose to be your own boss, automatically you get to enjoy plenty of “free days”. This is so wrong. At least, from my perspective. I find me working way more than I ever used to, but the difference is that now I have my freedom to choose. I choose to work every day of the week, including Sundays. I choose to get involved and be present at my job, because I love it! It drives me, it motivates me, it makes me be creative and inspired. It pushes me to run every day around and make another project come to light.
As women, we often have to use a million hats at a time, trying to make the ends meet. No matter how much one has to perform in “the ultimate juggling act called life” as Rachel Roy would name it, looking pulled together should never be a hassle or something complicated. Often, I leave the house in the morning and come back at 10pm. With such a long day out there, my morning wardrobe choices should be very functional, comfortable, and poised at the same time. I need flexibility and comfort to make it through the day in a manner that gives me confidence and energy. I find that mixing and blending different textures, patterns, with the right accessories is the way to create the most polished everyday version of myself. It works.
I hate cloths and shoes that make me uncomfortable or tired at the end of the day and I am sure we all pull this kind of outfits once in a while. Lately, I found myself investing in some good quality blazers. They are just so versatile and can literally transform just about any garments in your closet. I believe you can never have enough blazers. This amazing must-have closet staple is one of my favorite nowadays as it is so easy to be adapted to any kind of outfit, making you appear instantly edgy and pulled together. It also offers so much flexibility, making your long day truly pleasant and efficient! The blazer I am wearing in this picture is from the amazing Rachel Roy Collection and it’s super soft to the touch and lovely on the skin.
