Tanzanite

Is it sapphire or it’s not? It is very easy to perceive a tanzanite as a sapphire due to their similar lush blue colours and since the tanzanite is a very new addition to the gemstone world, one needs a good eye and a bit of knowledge in order to differentiate the two.Tanzanite diamond ring

I am a sapphire lover even though it is not my stone. It’s just because I love blues, all kinds and in all shades. Proof is my design preferences for Ocean Jewels. Still, since I set my eyes on a tanzanite for the first time in my life, I just fell in love. I cannot decide which stone is more beautiful, but I do have a preference now for the tanzanite, as its blue hues are so much more vivid, more velvety, more mesmerizing, I would say.

Tanzanite

One thing is certain: December babies can feel very unique and special, since one of their birthstones (along with zircon, turquoise, and blue topaz) can be found only in one place on earth: the majestic Kilimanjaro.

The tanzanite is so modern in its discovery that there are just a handful of people aware of its existence and even less of them, truly aware of its beauty. What is the most amazing thing about this precious stone is that it shows different colours, depending from which angle you are looking. Its name comes from Tanzania, the place where the stone was found, on the hills of Merelani, in 1967 by a Masai tribesman and was quickly assimilated by Tiffany & Co.

In my opinion, tanzanite looks amazing with yellow gold as it creates a beautiful contrast of colours. Many people prefer the tanzanite on white gold or platinum, which also looks great. No matter, what colour you choose for your gold piece, a tanzanite ring or pendant will always attract attention and will shower you with a plethora of compliments!

If you have a beloved one born in the month of December or if you are celebrating your 24th wedding anniversary, you can ALWAYS make an exceptional statement and invest in a beautiful tanzanite!
