“My purpose is not to arbitrarily misrepresent reality, but to capture its successful moments”
Sunday Funday. For me Sunday is one of those bitter-sweet days: I fully enjoy being off and having a whole day to myself, but by the time I start seizing the moment, a quick intrusive thought knocks at the back of my head saying:” Don’t overindulge yourself, sweetie, Monday is almost here.” I guess to be able to fully savor Sunday’s moments, we all need the Mondays off as well. Just saying :-). But back to seizing the moment, how can you do it without wearing something that makes you feel flowery, bubbly and overall just happy with life?! I adore flowers, all kinds of flowers and there are always flowers in my house. I just love waking up in the morning and seeing them stay on my desk ready to brighten my day. I love to touch them gently, to smell them and to realize how fortunate I am to feel and appreciate these little beauties that are perfect in their appearance, in their existence.
My inspiration for this post is the admirable Christian Lacroix. His designs represent an incredible and convincing dialogue between his Provencal roots, his special taste for vernacular and his fascination with the history of costumes. I love that he combines bright colours and extravagant materials with a sophisticated blend of cultures, and remote and long-forgotten traditions. This forms the “raison d’être” of his work.
My outfit here is a modern version that looks a lot like his Pastorelle dress from the 1988 spring/summer haute couture collection. Luckily I found it at Express and I fell in love with it. It is a very comfy and playful skirt and a crop-top that inspires energy, optimism, and lots of cheering smiles. It reminds me very much of my childhood and my little summer dresses that I was appreciating and admiring like some living creatures.
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!
