Along with the floral prints this spring has brought some novelty in the fashion world around the globe – the tribal spirit. Expressed through beautiful embroideries, feathers, fringes, colorful prints, this style has been embraced by the majority of the designers. This spring’s runways were pulsing a different vibe, a very energetic and wild one. Its simplicity combined with some sort of primitive eccentricity  is  meant to contour a youthful, upbeat, vibrant look.

I would call this trend: “A return to the roots and a spiritual revival”. The distinct geometrical patterns intertwined with abstract flowers, dream catchers, symbolize the will of our generation to break free, to feel entitled to mix and match a bunch of accessories, to wear bold colors, be artistic and totally not conventional. There are no fashion rules to abide by. Only Freedom. The tribal style is here to stay and make its triumph into the summer. It’s a very easy and fun style when teamed up with modern pieces. Of course, one must be careful not to overdo it and look outdated.

I love the large and comfy feel of tribal cloths and of course, feathers! Colorful, beautiful feathers always make a statement. I integrated some tribal elements in my outfit when in Charleston for the Fashion Week. It was perfect for the lightly chilly weather and fresh for spring. I look forward to the summer vibes and wish I could make it for the Coachella festival.

Always,

Sabina
