Hope everyone is enjoying this amazing weekend! I surely am! Last night I had the opportunity to attend and see one of the most important and beautiful events in South Carolina: Miss SC USA & Miss SC Teen USA! The event took place in North Charleston at the Coliseum & Performing Arts Center and I had a blast together with my friend. It was like a little getaway to a glamorous and sparkling world. Absolutely loved the show, the organization of it, and especially the beautiful young ladies that were competing! All of them were just gorgeous, down to earth, smart, and sophisticated! The entire show was hosted by Tim Tialdo, a 3-time Emmy Award Winning TV host and producer. Tim is also the author of “Host your own TV Show – 5 Steps to Help you become a TV Personality”.
Yesterday, November the 21st, was the grand finale of the event. The girls had the classic portions: the swimming suit, the evening gown, and the question. I was pretty impressed with how fit most of the girls were! Vey beautiful and healthy! Made me want to jump in the gym asap and tone my legs and abs. My favorite part was, of course, the evening gowns which were a DREAM! Absolutely incredible and charming! I was fascinated by most of the gowns and it would be very hard for me to name one I didn’t like. Actually, I don’t particularly like the dark baby blue color, aqua, turquoise, or green for a gown. I totally fall for a white and black, red, purple, white. I love the classics! Most of the dresses I admired (JOVANI , LA FEMME, SHERRI HILL, TARIK EDIZ, etc) can be purchased at Foxy Lady. For those who are in Myrtle Beach, you can consider yourself lucky, as Foxy Lady does have a brick and mortar store (which is gorgeous btw) on 4101 North Kings Hwy. It is their new location.
I must mention that girls’ makeup was outstanding and I also appreciated the photography. The Perfect Face and TPF Cosmetics is behind that and I totally plan to use their services. They also offer private makeup instruction and seminars. Other salons that offer incredible beauty services are: Your Style Team in Charleston, SC, Occo Skin Studio in Columbia, SC, Image Skincare. For great photography, look no further than Carter Studios, Younique Beauty, Sage Media Group.
I guess the judges did a great job in selecting the winners of the contest, even though, I find their duty extremely hard. Choosing just one from all those beautiful girls, must be pretty uncomfortable and difficult. I feel for all those girls that were not selected, as everyone goes there with high hopes. But, the truth is they all deserve to be “Miss South Carolina” and I am sure they do know that. I liked both winners: Miss SC – Leah Lawson (Mountain Lakes) and Miss SC Teen USA – Marley Stokes (Golden Corner). I am happy that both Horry County – Blakely Lovett (I think she had most of the fans present there to cheer for her) and Myrtle Beach – Ashlyn Laney, were in the top five! Congratulations!
As for me, I chose to wear a black jumpsuit accessorized with some long and flattering earrings. Love jumpsuits, and lately have been investing in like 7 of them. Yes, I am a bit obsessed with jumpsuits.
For the first time in my life I had the “luck” to have one of my shoe heel broken. Just before the Miss SC Show!!! I was stoned and couldn’t understand how this could happen??!!But, luckily, Sabina is pretty proactive regarding the “fashion incidents” so, I make sure I always have a second pair of shoes in my trunk and another one or two outfits. You know…just in case. 🙂 I did take a pair of boots with me which happened to save my glamorous evening as I was wearing the jumpsuit. I would have been totally disappointed if I was wearing a dress. So, everything worked for the best! Next time, for this kind of events, I will just make sure that I have another pair of actual heels!
