Once Coco Chanel said that black an white perfectly complement each other. I think the same about black and red. They just make such a nice “couple”: mesmerizing, sexy, elegant, mysterious, sophisticated, and classy at the same time. Red is passion and fire. Wearing red lipstick, a red dress, red shoes, red bag, will automatically attract attention from a male or female. It doesn’t matter. Try it for yourself, and you will be astonished.

Much have been sang about this color and much has been researched. What is interesting is that it has almost the same effect on men and on women. A charismatic effect. This psychological research proves some curious facts.

I love wearing red. One quarter of my wardrobe is red, but guess what, I don’t really wear it that much. Actually, these are my first pictures in a all red outfit. But I definitely decided to wear red lipstick more often. I don’t know why, but people suddenly take you more seriously and cautiously when they see you wearing red lipstick. :)I think the above study (see the link under the “psychological research”) pretty much explains the phenomenon.

“All my life I’ve pursued the perfect red. I can never get painters to mix it for me. It’s exactly as if I’d said, ‘I want rococo with a spot of Gothic in it and a bit of Buddhist temple’—they have no idea what I’m talking about. About the best red is to copy the color of a child’s cap in any Renaissance portrait.”
— Diana Vreeland

Indeed, there are so many shades of red, and there is a special one for every woman, as Audrey Hepburn said. It just needs to be discovered and then embraced with an open heart and a very big smile.

Always,

Sabina
