Hawaii, Waimanalo Beach

“Those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the Earth are never alone or weary of life”.

/Rachel Carson/

Hawaii is one of those places where you’d think about a “possible impossibility” to get back to where you came from. Those virgin islands and the wild beauty are so mesmerizing, so calming and soothing. Plus, they are so faraway! I remember it was the longest flight of my life. I thought I would never get there. At some point I had the feeling that I am travelling by bus and that it needed to stop! 15 HOURS were way too much! And no wine helped me! When finally I started to see some dim lights in the middle of the water, I felt relieved and happy! Oahu, here I come and can you please keep me here forever?! Of course, after travelling and discovering the island from North to South and East to West, I spent most of my time on Waimanalo Beach, a secluded, hidden gem. And thus, laying on the beach, I was thinking what a woman can wish for more? So much peace and joy..it’s like you become one with the nature. Then I thought about those challenges like: “If there were 3 necessary things that you could take with you on an island, what would they be?” Hmmm….I guess that would be:

1. MY SUNGLASSES. I am a Sunglass fan as you probably noticed on this blog, but apart from just being a fan, in Hawaii you need sunglasses!

2. MY SWIMMING SUIT(S). Ah, how I love swimming suits! All colours, all shapes! All styles! I can never have enough swimming suits!

3. SUNSCREEN! That’s a no brainer. I always use sunscreen even in the winter, let alone in the summer, on an island! I remember when I was little and used to go to the beach in Romania and then after one week when I’d come back, my mom wouldn’t recognize me! I was as dark as one can be after staying in the sun for a week without no sunscreen and plus my nose! oh, God, my nose!!!! Anybody from faraway could tell that I just came back from an awesome  vacation. My nose would tell it all! I am glad I grew up and learned things and thanks God for Sunscreen!

These are my 3 things that I would definitely take on the island with me, plus face moisturizer, skin toner, my BB cream, mascara, eyeliner, lip gloss, lip balm, hand cream,  my nail kit, some jewelry, a head band, hair accessories, a couple of dresses, and of course, my camera!

What are your 3 things you cannot live without while on a vacation?

Cheers,
