“All women search for their special identity. All women have dormant qualities of luxury and mystery.”

/DIANA VREELAND/

Hola! I started this post with Diane Vreeland’s quote which I liked a lot. The quote was referring to Cristobal Balenciaga, the talented Spanish fashion designer and how he brings the body and the dress together, thus, making a woman feel and be in a perfect rhythm with the universe. And this is so important! Have you ever decided to wear something and then live the whole day under the impression that something is missing, or you don’t feel quite well because your dress or shirt, or pants, or the entire outfit doesn’t light you up? Even if that’s not the first time you are wearing that particular dress or shirt, but this time, somehow it doesn’t represent you that day? Or have you ever felt that the decision to wear that yellow dress with those black pumps and feather earrings made your day and more than that, your day was so productive that you have been promoted to another level, or awarded a special recognition, or made the sale of the year? It happens to me a lot. Usually, I know exactly what to wear in the morning, but, boy, there are those foggy days when I pull all my wardrobe out and maybe after 1 hour I find that skirt and shirt that would fit my soul, the one that would express my personality. The light side of it.

I believe that there are so many ways to find and convey your identity and fashion is one of the most decisive and expressive. We all are born (I want to believe) with a propensity towards beauty and kindness. Naturally, we can distinguish beautiful from ugly from a very early stage in our lives. The way we dress and the fact that we are choosing how to dress and what to wear is one way (a very simple and the fastest learned one) to show and to express our own perception of beauty and comfort. Of course, it is different for everyone, as the old saying says: “The beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”

The dress in these pictures is custom made. It is inspired from a Dolce & Gabbana dress worn by Britney Spears on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar June, 2011 issue.  Of course, Dolce and Gabbana dress is way more gorgeous, but I really, really wanted a dress that would look similar. I once had a very talented lady that used to make any dress or piece of clothing I could dream of. I waited a long time to wear it and today is the day! Hope you guys like it!

Have a peaceful and sunny day!!!
With love,

Sabina
