Functional vs. feminine, minimal vs. romantic. Which one would you choose this fall? While these two categories share common grounds, the contrast is noticeable not only on the surface, or visually, but also at a tactile level. Imagine just for one moment that one would be able to discover a trend just by using the tactile sense as the only available of all sensitive experiences.
Less is more?! At the very first touch (just close your eyes), the minimal delivers simple lines, smooth but thicker textiles, austere and somehow lacking in figurative forms. Less is more, entices us to a pretty reductionist view, which has been always connected to minimalism.
By contrary, when we are talking about a more romantic look, we are taken to 3d applications, organza, silk, and sophistication. Talking about this two trends we are also touching the subject of luxury or its absence.
Still, the minimalist look shouldn’t be looked upon as a simplistic one, because if done in the right way, it has a very modern and rich touch. The floral, romantic look depicts a different personality and energy. I believe that both trends are extremely appealing and fascinating and the process of choosing one in the favor of the other, highly depends on your mood. I love both tendencies and I will equally wear florals and straight lines. Sometimes, I will create a certain mood by wearing the piece of clothing that I believe will induce that state of mind. I don’t solely depend on my internal factors and moods in determining what I want to wear. I want to make sure that I am in control of how I want my day to be. So, I create it. When I am tired or become too thoughtful I will dress up in bright colors and heavier accessories just to get a lift or at least to leave the impression of it.
