Hello Lovelies,

This post is the second part of this one in which I describe a couple of products I use in order to prevent the early signs of aging. In this post I will cover my evening skin care routine and the particular products I use. Please let me know in the comments if you have any questions.

Usually, in the evening I would spoil myself with all kinds of skin care procedures and especially masks.

I often use sheet masks as at home treatments that work wonders.

  1. The evening skin care routine will start with removing the makeup and a very deep cleansing.
  2. Next, I use the much talked about couple: hyaluronic acid and vitamin C, that have been recommended by Doctor Oz and that was a real internet hit because it works. Now if you are not familiar with the hyaluronic acid, don’t let the word “acid” scare you! Acids in skincare are very valuable and there is an acid just for about any skin problem. Hyaluronic acid is used for boosting moisture and plumping. It actually occurs naturally in the body and it is affected by age. The hyaluronic acid used in beauty products is a synthetic one, acting like a water magnet, pulling moisture from the air down into the skin. When this acid is combined with a Vit. C serum, it makes wonders: brighter, more resilient, younger skin. I do my own Vit. C serum made of ascorbic acid powder and distilled water (1:2).  Applying Vitamin C topically or directly to the skin improves the skin’s collagen synthesis, slows down the aging, and minimizes the damage against free radicals. Vitamin C is just excellent for our overall health but it should be used moderately. After applying the Vit. C solution onto the skin I wait until it dries out and then will add the hyaluronic acid. I use Hyalurnic Acid Sheet masks as they are more convenient and will cover every bit of my face, thus ensuring that the vit. C and the hyaluronic acid are both penetrating my skin. If I apply the treatment in the night, I won’t wash my face but just leave the ingredients to work overnight. Usually I apply this treatment about 3 times a week. On the regular days, I follow my ordinary skin care routine with a serum, moisturizer, and a sleeping pack.
  3. I have another huge secret that I recently discovered for a smoother face, but I will reveal it in my next beauty post. Stay tuned.

I would love to hear about your skin care routine and how you fight the aging process. There are so many things to discuss yet, but another day.

Stay young,
