“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us. And the world will live as one.”

/John Lennon/

Simply Stylist is one of those events that every fashionista has to attend, be it in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, or…Dubai. The only thing I regret is that every city that I mentioned is pretty far away from me, otherwise I would attend each and every time. The Simply Stylist 2016 Conference in New York was a real pleasure: a day of pampering, education, networking, and lots of fun. I chose to be part of it as Gold Rhapsody was celebrating One Year Into Fashion and as I am writing this I am so thrilled to do the same the next year.

I am inspired by beauty, and Simply Stylist is an opportunity to get an overload of energizing inspiration.

The day started at the trendy Yotel in New York City. As I arrived at the 4th floor, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I quickly checked in and instantly felt “at home”. While waiting for the VIP brunch to start, I met a couple of other fashionistas with bright smiles, eager to live a day full of excitement. This is the exact thing what I liked the most at the event: all the people seemed to be so open-minded, approachable, and happy. After all, we were all there for networking and for learning new stories. dsc_0783

I love meeting new people and I would have loved to personally introduce myself and meet each and every person present at the event. Everybody has his/her own sequence of amazing experiences and it’s just fascinating to see how much diversity is out there.

After taking a couple of pictures we proceeded to a cozy veranda style room for our brunch. The tables were decorated with much taste and elegance. While sipping mimozas, I was happily chatting and discovering my table neighbors, exchanging business cards and sharing our expectations from the Simply Stylist. Sarah Boyd, the founder of Simply Stylist set the vibe with a welcoming speech and later introduced the glamorous Annabelle Daily, the founder of Map My Beauty. Annabelle made quite an impression with her model-like figure and beautiful blue eyes. Her opening speech was sweet and to the point, spreading waves of positive energy across the room. beautyplus_20161109153416_save

After a delicious brunch and uplifting conversations, we headed to the conference room where the absolutely gorgeous and super talented Catt Saddler from E! News made her elegant appearance introducing Lauren Bushnell from Sparkle In Her Eyes. As the speakers (Bethany Heitman, Holly Nichols, Jacey Duprie, Kat Tanita, Denise Caldwell, Liliana Vasquez, Claire Sulmers, Gwendolyn Floyd, Christine Cameron, Joey Maalouf, Ashley Kiely, Jackie Demeterio, Vanessa Simmons, Kalyn Chandler, Morgan Kaye, Erin Armstrong, Emily Men, and James Nord) were making their way on the stage inspiring and eagerly sending part of their life enthusiasm and professional advice to the public, the hours were just flying by. I felt that there was so much information to assimilate and so many things to still enjoy outside the conference room, that a day was surely not enough. I really wished there was more time to actually meet each of the speakers or at least some of them and just make a connection or take a picture. There was not enough time for that as the panel discussions and the interviews were developing continuously until 6pm.

After a couple of hours of ongoing educational tips and tricks, I left the conference for half an hour in order to refresh myself. Wine, mimozas, coffee and small bites were elegantly served. Massage sessions, nail touch ups, hair and makeup stations, photo booths, Instagram instant mini photo printing station, and an amazing fashion illustrator, Holly Nichols, on site, made my day at Simply Stylist an incredible experience. The day concluded with a Gift Bag containing things a fashionista needs.

“Do stuff. Be clenched, curious. Not waiting for inspiration’s shove or society’s kiss on your forehead. Pay attention. It’s all about paying attention. Attention is vitality. It connects you with others. It makes you eager. Stay eager.”
